How to Trust Your Gut on the SAT & ACT

8/29/2018

In my book, Acing It! A Mindful Guide to Maximum Results on Your College Admissions Test, I say that I want you to "trust your gut and do the work to have a gut worth trusting."

Acing It! gives you a step-by-step framework for developing a gut worth trusting, but in today's video I decided to put a twist on the idea of what it means to trust your gut because the idea of trusting your gut works on a few different levels.

In the video, I also teach you a quick (1 minute!) technique to settle nerves and release stress.
Trust your gut, and do the work to have a gut worth trusting.
If you like the video, please click over to YouTube where you can “like” it and subscribe to my YouTube Channel, and be sure to share the video and this post with friends!

Remember: the purpose of your test prep is to help you create the experience you want to have on test day.

If you want to feel confident about the material, study the material. If you want to feel calm, start learning techniques to ground and soothe yourself. If you want to feel present, start bringing your attention to the here and now.

These habits can be practiced within and beyond your test prep. And they help you trust your gut beyond test prep, too.

What is one habit you can start practicing today that will help you have a gut worth trusting on test day?
