It is much easier to make the decision not to engage in distracting, disadvantageous habits once than to have to make the decision over and over again.
It takes less energy, less willpower, and less awareness. It allows for fewer slip-ups.
Then, you have more mental space (and time!) for things like homework, learning, creativity, and play.
All of those things you are turning off or away from? They will still be there in an hour.
We often think of these habits as mindless or automatic, but they aren’t. They are a choice. Or a series of choices.
Choose once. Choose better.
